SUZANNA STEELE, VICE-PRESIDENT OF PROGRAMMING
GRADUATE LEADERSHIP COUNCIL – American University
School of Public Affairs – Master of Public Administration
Suzanna Steele (she/her/hers) is pursuing a Master in Public Administration with a concentration in policy analysis. She is also a certificate candidate for Public Financial Management and Statistical Analysis. Suzanna graduated from American University with a Bachelor’s in Communication, Legal Institutions, Economics, and Government as well as a Spanish Minor.
While an undergraduate student Suzanna served on the Executive Board of American University Outdoors Club, was the Outreach Director for the Eagle Endowment (the only student run grant organization in the U.S.), and the Finance Director for Alpha Xi Delta Fraternity. Suzanna was highly active in the School of Public Affairs Leadership Program and the Women’s Ultimate Frisbee Team.
In addition to on-campus involvement, Suzanna spent a year studying abroad in Spanish-speaking countries. She has also engaged with the D.C. community by starting an environmental club at a local middle school and serving with AmeriCorps.
Suzanne currently works at the U.S. Dept. of Justice and is a research assistant for senior faculty in the School of Public Affairs. Suzanne is thrilled to serve at the Vice President of Programming for the Graduate Leadership Council. She believes the best way to create a supportive academic environment is to have strong student programming.
When Suzanna isn’t sending emails to Student Activities, you can find her biking around D.C., dreaming about returning to her home in the Rocky Mountains, and attending local Spanish speaking club meetings.
