Carl Amritt (he/him/his) is pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration with a concentration in Organizational Performance & Evaluation. He is also completing his certificate in Program Management and Data Analytics. Prior to his role as Vice President of Management, he served on the School of Public Affair’s Graduate Student Council Academic Affairs Committee.
Carl completed his Bachelor’s in Political Science with a concentration in Policy Analysis at American University. While an undergraduate, Carl was active in the Roosevelt Institute where he completed a summer Emerging Fellow where he conducted research on the restoration of voting rights for former felons. He later served as the national Policy Coordinator for their Democratic Access policy center leading policy research and development in the areas of electoral politics, public finance reform, and civic engagement.
Before attending American University, Carl spent a year working in the Democratic Coordinated Campaign in South Florida where served as a Deputy Regional Director coordinating the campaign operations for a county office.
Carl currently works in the Office of University Safety & Security Services at American University assisting with transportation programs, university compliance, emergency preparedness, and safety initiatives. He is also involved with Eagles Elect, American University’s non-partisan initiative to help community members register to vote and receive election information. Carl is excited to talk about all the programs available through the Graduate Leadership Council and how students can get involved.
When Carl is not fawning over Veronica, you can find him registering people to vote, jogging through the trails of Rock Creek Park, or studying in the Graduate Research Center (GRC).
