Galilea Sejas-Machado

Galilea Sejas-Machado is a community-centered leader rooted in Northern Virginia’s Bolivian Quechua community. She advances Latine communities through education, civic engagement, and social justice, and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration at American University to expand equitable educational opportunities.
Nationally, Galilea serves as the Senior Community Impact & Programs Coordinator for the LULAC National Educational Service Centers (LNESC), where she leads youth empowerment efforts and oversees all LNESC programs supporting low-income and first-generation K–12 students. She also holds key leadership roles as the Vice President of Communications for the National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations (NALFO), a coalition of 17 Latine Greek-lettered organizations, and as the Social Justice Impact Committee Chair for Chi Upsilon Sigma National Latin Sorority, Inc.
Her advocacy also spans reproductive justice with the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Justice and increasing voter access as a Spanish-language Election Officer. At American University, she serves as President of the School of Public Affairs Graduate Student Council and as Director of Outreach for the Association of Latino Career Enhancement.
Galilea centers community, creative advocacy, and coalition-building in every project. Outside of her work, she finds balance through biking, hiking, and connecting with nature.
